Donations for EHNE - Mary Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church - Plymouth, MA
One of the largest charitable organizations in the world, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international, nonprofit, Catholic lay organization of about 800,000 men and women who voluntarily join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in 153 countries on five continents. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at MQOM is a volunteered-based group whose mission is to grow in friendship and spirituality by serving God's people through acts of charity.
The Society serves people in need regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions. No work of charity is foreign to the Society.

The Society at MQOM serves the community continually. Local families are struggling to make ends meet especially with utilities and food. We are seeking charitable neighbors who would like to donate financially or through food stuffs.
St. Vincent de Paul Donation Boxes are located near the doors of all three churches in the MQOM parish. Through your generosity we will be able to continue to help the residents for Plymouth, Carver and surrounding towns with groceries, heat, electric, and rent relief.
Visit Feed the Hungry to donate, volunteer or get assistance from the Society.

OUR MISSION
As a subcommittee of our Collaborative’s Social Justice Ministry, the diaper pantry’s mission is to provide diapers to families in need within our Collaborative area, by partnering with community organizations that serve those less fortunate.
Research shows that one in three U.S. families struggle to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry and healthy. The numbers of families coming to the pantry has increased over the past few months. We see an average of 20 families a week!

SPECIAL THANK YOU FOR THIS GENEROUS DONATION FROM COTTI-JOHNSON
We are ever so grateful for your support and generosity in donating diapers, and monetary contributions. We continue to add to the numbers of families we are able to help, as well as provide assistance to local agencies who offer services to our neighbors in need. This could not be possible without your support.

MANY THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
We’d like to thank all of our wonderful Diaper Pantry volunteers for their hard work and generous spirits as they ensure that all area babies in need of clean dry diapers are accommodated!
These energetic parishioners not only provide a friendly welcome and prompt service to the Diaper Pantry’s clients, but they sort and track inventory, package donations, and see that the operation runs smoothly. On behalf of the Social Justice Ministry and our entire Collaborative, thanks to all – you are truly living your faith and the Gospel!

Some observations from our Diaper Pantry volunteers:
"For me it is so touching to see these struggling mothers come in with their sweet babies. We get to oohh and ahh over them and you can see the mother’s pride. They are so happy leaving with their much-needed diapers and a little affirmation."
"The community is making a difference in the generous donations to the Diaper Pantry. The clients and volunteers are appreciative and grateful to the parishioners."
“The Diaper Pantry gives its volunteers an opportunity to meet many local moms and other caregivers. They all share a deep love for their babies and a desire to provide for them in every way possible. Most people could likely imagine, having to ask for help from strangers can be a humbling experience. The gratitude these clients express to us in exchange for diapers and baby wipes is heartwarming. Something so simple can mean so much to so many. “
"We help a variety of clients – parents of babies, parents with multiple children, grandparents taking care of grandkids, non-English speaking parents. The one thing they all have in common is their appreciation of the kindness of others in helping them through a difficult time. It is one less thing for them to worry about."
"When the client says, 'You don’t know what a help this is. I don’t have to think about buying diapers.' You are meeting a huge need for the clients."

As the days grow shorter and the Church invites us to remember our beloved dead, the work of bereavement ministry becomes even more sacred. Grief visits our parishes, our families, our neighbors, and it doesn’t follow a calendar or a predictable path.
What matters most in that place is not speed, but presence. Not answers, but accompaniment.
Our parish bereavement ministry offers exactly that: a place of safety where people can speak honestly about loss. It’s where someone can cry without embarrassment, share a memory that still stings, or sit in silence and be held in prayer. In that space, grief is acknowledged rather than avoided, and compassion becomes the language everyone understands.
Bereavement ministers mirror God’s mercy in their listening hearts and gentle, steady presence. They remind us that mourning isn’t something to “get over,” but a passage through which love can deepen and faith can be tested and refined.
Through the initial meeting with the bereaved family to prepare for the Mass of Christian Burial, Memorial Masses, support-group gatherings, a phone call or a card of condolence, this ministry points to the one who walks with us even in the valley of tears. Jesus promised: “I am with you always.” In this ministry we seek to live that promise on behalf of our parish community. (adapted from RENEW International)
THANK YOU to all those who serve in the Bereavement Ministry at Mary, Queen of Martyrs!
At a time when presence means everything, there is no greater work of mercy than standing with those who mourn.
